Sprachreisen zählen bei den meisten Menschen zu den unvergesslichen Erinnerungen des Lebens. Mit einer Sprachreise sind völlig neue Lebenserfahrungen und überwältigende Eindrücke verbunden.
Da die Schüler sich für die letzten zwei Juniwochen Sonne und Sprache wünschten , fiel die Wahl auf Malta . Begleitet wurden sie von Prof. Mag. Margit Waidmayr, Prof. Mag. Elisabeth Sengstschmied und Prof. DI. Christoph Bochdansky.
Untergebracht waren die Jugendlichen zu zweit in einer Gastfamilie , von der sie herzlich aufgenommen wurden.Die Vormittage verbrachten unsere Schüler in einer Sprachschule, um ihr Englisch zu perfektionieren. Auf dem Programm standen während dieser Woche unter anderem Ausflüge nach Valletta, auf die Insel Gozo und die Besichtigung der alten Städte Mdina und Rabat. Besonders beeindruckt waren die Schülerinnen und Schüler von der Fahrt mit einem Speedboot sowie von der blauen Grotte.
Aber lassen wir die Schüler selbst ihre Eindrücke berichten.
Malta is best known as a sun and sea destination. There is certainly no shortage of either. Malta has more than 300 sunny days a year and is surrounded by clear blue waters, some of the cleanest sea in the Mediterranean, and is much enjoyed by visiting swimmers, snorkelers and divers.
Valetta is the capital of Malta and has a long history, with a lot of sieges and battles. A glimpse of that history is given by the „Malta Experience“. The city of Valetta is beautiful and you should consider a walk through it.
The harbour of Valetta played an important role during the history of Malta. Therefore you should consider a harbour cruise to get another sight of Valetta. ( Group B2)
As the islands Malta and Gozo are about 5 km apart, it was decided to make an easy and cheap way to go to the other island. The cheapest way is to take a ferry. It leaves every 30 or 45 minutes. Another option is to take a helicopter, but that is pricy. To make it even easier a bridge is being planned.
The Azure Window is a rock formation, which consisted of a pillar rising from the sea joined to the cliff by a horizontal slab, which was created by the collapse of a sea cave probably during the 19th century. On 8 March 2017 the horizontal slab collapsed during a storm and fell into the sea.
Ramla Bay is particularly known for its golden-reddish sand which makes it different from all others in Gozo and Malta. ( Group C1)
